Hey bloggers! Sorry I've been a bit absent again recently. Me and my boyfriend have this whole long distance thing going on so when we see each other in small chunks of about 4/5 days or so, blogging goes completely out of the window. The glorious weather we're having at the moment certainly isn't helping either. I think my body has become so used to the cold weather that I physically can't cope with the heat. My body seems to think I'm in Spain or something because I've been taking my midday siestas pretty much every day because I've been so exhausted. Then I always wake up feeling really guilty that I've slept the day away.. buttttt what can I say, I'm a typical Brit ;) We're not happy unless we're moaning about the weather right?
I can barely stay awake in the heat, so posing for OOTD's is certainly not on the top of my list at the moment. It's a real shame though because I have quite a few outfits I'd like to show you all and I have loads of new clothes that I bought months ago that I still haven't got around to posting about yet! Hopefully I'll get my arse in gear sometime this week so I can start posting regularly again :)
The truth is, I've kinda lost interest in summer fashion recently. Up until now, I've always preferred summer clothes because I'm a bit of a boho girl at heart and I always found it so easy to dress and look effortless. I don't know what's come over me recently, but I'm just not feeling it anymore. Because the weather is so unpredictable all the time, I find it hard to put my heart and soul into a summer wardrobe when, let's be honest, it's a complete and utter waste of money. I love fashion and clothes as much as the next girl, but sometimes you need to put things in to perspective and realise that THEY'RE ONLY CLOTHES. The white crochet dress below from Asos is £42 and I absolutely love it.. but realistically? I'm probably gonna get a months wear out of it, if that. It's not the sort of thing you can pair with tights in the winter is it? Next summer, you can almost bet that crochet will be nowhere to be seen. My wishlist is surprisingly bright because naturally everyone wants to wear colour in the summer. But for approx 9 months of the year when it's wet and windy, I detest colour. So I'm left with a colour filled wardrobe that I don't wear.. it happens to me every year. I know not everyone will feel the same way as me and believe me, I admire those who wear bright colours in the doom and gloom of winter. But personally, I'm a dark dresser and I always will be. I love my blacks, navys, burgundys and dark greens. I've never noticed before, but I guess I just prefer winter fashion.
My point is, I LOVE everything on my July Wishlist - but will I buy any of it? Probably not. I just can't justify spending £35 on a bikini. In hindsight, it's such a waste of money.

Reading it back, this post is way more pessimistic than I intended it to be, oopsies! There definitely isn't anything wrong with buying summer clothes!! In all honesty, I regret not buying the Asos dress when I saw it on their website a couple of months ago because now it's sold out and I really really want it :( But I guess what I'm trying to get at here is to weigh up how much something is worth before you buy it and how much wear you're going to get out of it. It's what I've been telling myself recently and my bank balance loves me for it :)
