Epitome of determination: sold out Topshop dress

Silk tunic - £40 from Topshop

I saw this tunic dress in my local Topshop a few weeks ago and fell in love with it straight away. I like things that are a bit unusual and not something that everyone would wear.. this dress is definitely that. I think it's the sort of thing you either love or hate, but the fact that this dress is sold out online and in store, I think it's fair to say a lot of people love it. I found it hidden away on a random rail but was gutted to find it was a size 4, 3 sizes too small! It looked massive so I thought I'd give it a go anyway and to my amazement, it fit! OBVIOUSLY I'm not a 4, and I knew the dress was meant to be a baggy fit, so with regret I walked away huffing that they didn't have my size. I hoped I could go home and order it online.. SOLD OUT. Was it on eBay? No. I even checked if it was available in any of my other local stores.. nope. I randomly checked again yesterday and someone had only gone and returned a size 8 to a store in Chesterfield (about an hour away on the bus from me)!!! I'd never been to Chesterfield before but it was one of those 'fuck it' moments, so I rang the store so they could reserve it for me and I went and got the dress. I am one determined girl when it comes to clothes!

Thank god the 8 fits a lot better, even though it's technically a size too small, but because of the baggy fit you can definitely get away with it being a size smaller. Despite my efforts, the dress still isn't exactly how I want it. I LOVE the pattern but the actual dress is quite shapeless, so back to the alteration shop I go! I swear that woman is going to love me the amount of times I've paid her a visit! At the minute, the dress is so long it's practically a midi so I just need it shortened to a mini and then it'll be perfect :) It's such a good quality dress for £40 though! Even the woman at the counter said she couldn't believe it was £40, the silk material is something that Topshop Boutique would sell for £90! Good going Toppers.

What do you guys think?
Is lime green/yellow a colour you would wear in a dress?
Do you love it or hate it?
