Room Inspiration.

Realistically, when I graduate from uni, I'm probably not going to be able to afford to move out of my family home straight away. As much as I'd love to, I think the sensible option is to work for a bit, get some savings, fund a car, do a bit of travelling and basically enjoy life for a bit. When you're a student, all you do is penny watch. Why would I want to spend all of my hard earned money on rent and bills when I could just pay my parents board which will probably be a quarter of the price? There's plenty of time for me to move out, there's no point in rushing into things when I can't really afford it.

Luckily for me, my mum was already thinking about redecorating my room sometime next year. It hasn't been decorated in about 3 years and it's in major need of a freshen up. My mum has wanted my room blue and white from day one so obviously she's happy to redecorate now that's the colour pallet I've decided on. My room is currently olive green with pink floral wallpaper, white furniture and cream carpet. It's still nice but the green is a bit dark and depressing and the carpet is starting to look quite dingy. I want to brighten everything up so it's light and airy and a more uplifting place to be in.

All I can think about is redecorating my room, so much so that I've literally been living on Pinterest every day gathering inspiration. I have a very clear idea of what I want my bedroom to look like:

• White Walls
• Chimney breast wall in Laura Ashley duck egg blue Tatton wallpaper
• A 3/4 bed with white bedding and white fluffy pillows (I can't have a single bed forever!)
• A map of the world above my bed with pins of where I have travelled to
• Pinterest quotes framed above my bed
• Fairy lights above my bed
• Ikea Malm dressing table
• Muji acrylic make-up storage
• 'J' mug holding my make-up brushes
• White wood effect lino instead of carpet
• White standing full length mirror
• Yankee scented candles on dressing table

We probably won't redecorate until after my dissertation is handed in in April but I'll definitely keep you all posted! Have a great week guys xxx
