Like I'm made of glass, like I'm made of paper

I've been doing reading for my essay since 9am this morning so I thought I needed a bit of a breather because my brain can just not take it anymore. I thought I'd do a little post on one of my favourite things to wear, kimono's. I'm not sure if I've mentioned but on a night out I'm not one of these people that is OTT dressy. For some reason, I always end up throwing a shirt or kimono over what I'm wearing to make it a bit more casual. I don't know why, I guess (like I said in my previous post) I'm not much of a girly girl. Plus I think you can make more of a statement sometimes by throwing something simple over a top like the gorgeous kimono posted below. I loved it the second I saw it in Miss Selfridge a few months ago when I was out shopping with my mum. We have pretty similar taste so I tend to go shopping with my mum the most because she'll always give me an honest opinion. You can't really tell but the kimono is velvet and the colours are absolutely beautiful. It looks soooo expensive.. probably because it was. I think it was around £60 so obviously I didn't even contemplate buying it, but now I'm really regretting it. Let's put it this way, I WILL hunt this down on ebay within the next few months! The outfit below is the sort of thing I'd wear on a night out - pretty basic but I think it's the accessories you wear that make an outfit. I'll always wear a lot of silver ethnic jewellery and I pretty much live out of my missguided.com heeled leather boots. Socks and boots are an absolute god send on a night out, if you haven't already I would seriously consider investing in some!

I thought I'd dig out some old photos of me from last year wearing my cheapo Primark kimono to show you what I'd normally wear it with. I've gone off it a bit now but it was the only decent priced one I could find at the time. If I end up buying the Miss Selfridge one on ebay, I'll probably end up selling mine.

Anyway back to revision I go, peace out.
