my new obsession

It wasn't until today that I realised 'I suddenly own quite a lot of velvet!' Okay by quite a lot I mean 3 items but still. A few weeks ago I bought an emerald green velvet skater dress from missguided.com and I absolutely love it! Green is my favourite colour and I've always worn skater dresses because they tend to suit me, so I couldn't go wrong really!

My next purchase was a black velvet playsuit/pinafore from Topshop that I bought on ebay. After seeing it posted on a blog, I fell in love with it straight away! The only problem was that it was sold out EVERYWHERE, so I turned to ebay like I usually do when I'm on the hunt for something. Turns out I wasn't the only one wanting to buy it! I bidded and bidded but lost every time because I refused to pay anymore than £20 for it. Until one day I thought stuff it... so I ended up paying £45 for it! Ah well, it's SO worth it! Word of advice though for anyone thinking of buying it: the reviews are true, buy a size smaller than you usually are! I'm normally a 10 in playsuits but I bought it in an 8 and it's definitely roomy!
 
I was really unsure about my burgundy velvet high waisted shorts when I first bought them, but for £15 in the Topshop sale I thought I might as well. I liked them, I just didn't know what I could wear them with. I was contemplating taking them back until I tried them on with my white blouse and heeled boots - now I really like them!

Sorry for the bad quality photos by the way! I'm at home for mothers day and I've left my camera at uni so I've had to make do with my webcam!
