Review - Carmella by Benefit

I'm not one for beauty related posts, especially reviews. Despite the fact everything about me (my taste in interiors/my hobbies/my music taste) is very 'girly girl', I don't normally find beauty posts very interesting. There's nothing wrong with them, it's just that I don't tend to experiment with different make-up, I don't wear fake tan/fake nails/fake hair and I don't really 'pamper' myself, so I'm a bit alien to it all. However, I'm not a COMPLETE beauty-phobe. One thing I will definitely spend my money on is perfume.

So... I thought I'd try something different and do a perfume review! My biggest problem with perfumes is generally that a) they all smell the same and b) they aren't strong enough so they don't last very long. I've only ever found 3 perfumes that I REALLY like and only one of them is strong enough to last the whole day. So as you'd imagine, I was green with envy when I smelt a girl at work (not in a weird way, awk) wearing the nicest perfume every time I stood next to her. It's taken me a while but I eventually got my hands on it yesterday and it's even better than I thought. It's sooooo strong! My mum even said she walked in the room and all she could smell was my perfume! All you need is one spray and it's still as strong now as it was when I first put it on 11 o clock this morning. I love fruity perfumes so this one is perfect as the most apparent smell is coconut with a slight hint of what I can only describe as white chocolate. It's different to anything I've ever smelt before which is why I was so drawn to it. I would definitely recommend it! A lot of perfumes smell so similar these days.. it's so boring!

At £29.50 a bottle, it's not exactly cheap considering the size of it. The only consolation I guess is the fact that it's so strong, you only need one spray so it should last a lot longer than normal perfumes. Normally, I find myself spraying 5/6 times just to make sure that it lasts all day (and even then it doesn't!) The perfume is available to buy at Boots and Debenhams. I also thought it was a really cute gesture when the woman at the benefit counter put me down for a free make-up lesson in 4 weeks time - something they offer to all of their customers who buy in store! I wasn't actually planning on going but I guess I probably should. Who knows, I might even enjoy it!

Any other beauty-phobes out there?
x

  1. I looooove those perfumes. Whenever I'm near a Benefit counter I have to sample them and pick out my favourite one of the day! They are pricy though so I'm hoping for a birthday present..!

I was a beauty phobe until lately, these days make up has almost (but not quite!) equalled my fashion obsession.
