I absolutely love noseying at what people got for Christmas. For those of you that enjoy it as much as me, here is what I got for Christmas! As you get older, your parents will more than likely overload you with the term 'quality over quantity'... gone are the days when you'd have 20 presents under the tree and a stocking full of dvd's and Cadbury's selection boxes. I always struggle to make a Christmas wishlist because I buy all year round... if I want something enough I will just buy it there and then. As my mum says: what do you buy the girl who already has everything she wants? Apart from the rings and the clothes, I really had no idea what to expect when I opened my presents this year because I hadn't really asked for anything. So as you can imagine, I was very pleasantly surprised!
1. Alexa Chung - IT. I used to be obsessed with Alexa Chung. She introduced me to the world of vintage and is probably the main inspiration behind the name of my blog. My phone and laptop backgrounds/screensavers are photos of Alexa so yeah, I guess you could say I was a fan. I read a few disappointing reviews of her book so decided not to ask for it for Christmas. The main criticism is that it isn't an autobiography like you would think, it's more of a brief insight into her life full of anecdotes and little drawings. I've read a couple of pages so far and it's actually quite interesting.. definitely didn't have her down as a Ginger Spice fan?!
2. Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche 100ml perfume. I didn't ask for perfume so this was definitely a shocker! My mum was with me one day when I was testing what they all smelt like in Boots but I had no intentions of asking for it because Chanel is so ridiculously expensive. I don't think it is worth the money AT ALL but nevertheless I am absolutely over the moon! Apparently my dad went out and bought it all on his own without any help from my mum and by coincidence bought the exact same scent that my mum was thinking of buying me! Chance Eau Fraiche is one of three perfumes from the Chanel Chance range and is apparently this years bestseller at Boots because it's SUCH a nice smell (compared to Chanel No. 5 - eugh!) I think it's fair to say this will only be coming out on special occasions!!!
3. Pandora March Birthstone Ring & Silver Band Ring. Before Christmas, I went shopping with my mum and got fitted for the 2 Pandora rings that I liked. My birthday isn't in March but I didn't like the red stone on the January ring... the Aquamarine pale blue stone on the March ring is so much prettier! I loved both rings (pictured above) but didn't expect my mum to get me two... how happy was I when I unwrapped the box and they were both sat there glistening!!!
4. Pandora Car Charm. Technically an early Christmas present but I thought I'd include it anyway. My mum and dad bought this for me on the 10th December when I passed my driving test yeeeehahhhh!
5. Topshop Black Fluffy Crop Jumper. Also an early Christmas present. My mum let me buy a few clothes on her card so I could wear them throughout December instead of having to wait until after Christmas to wear them.
6. Asos Ombre Dip Hem Shirt Dress. Early Christmas Present.
7. Small Yankee Candles. I LOVE CANDLES SO MUCH. I own quite a lot but weirdly none of them are scented. Yankee scented candles sound good enough to eat and I've wanted some for ages but couldn't quite justify spending £8 per candle on a student budget. But yay I finally own some!!! I've been dying to light them all day but I'm going in to town tomorrow to swap them for different scents. Well, I guess it was too much to ask that they got the perfume AND the candles right haha. I also got a Yankee air freshener for my car that I'm going to swap for a different scent as well.
8. Missguided Floral Lace Trim Playsuit. Early Christmas Present.
9. River Island Ombre Mongolian Fur Bag. I wanted this bag as soon as I saw Lily Melrose with it a few months ago. I was so sad when I found out it was £150, I swear my mum didn't hear the end of it! Still, I never thought she would buy it for me because c'mon... £150 for a bag is ridiculous! She told me that it would more than likely be in the sale after Christmas so there I was, online every day checking to see if it was down in price. Then one day... BAM, it had vanished. Apparently that sneaky mother of mine was also checking the River Island website every day and saw that the bag was reduced to £70. HOW?! HOW DID I MISS THAT? I still can't believe she managed to buy it because it sold out almost immediately. It didn't arrive in time for Christmas Day but I still squealed over a printed photograph. I wish it would just hurry up and arrive already!!!
What did Santa bring you for Christmas?
