A whole 10 days since my last post, shame on me!
I've had the best week though. I went down to St. Albans on Thursday to stay with my boyfriend for the week and being the saddo tourist that I am, I made sure we had a day out in London! I've ALWAYS wanted to go to Camden Market so the plan was to go there on the Saturday. We parked up at the train station but it started chucking it down with rain so we turned back. Good job n'all, I was slightly fragile from a heavy night on the wine the night before and spent the rest of the day with my head down the toilet... nice. Anyway, we rearranged for Sunday when the weather was a bit nicer. We got the train to St. Pancras then hopped on the tube to South Kensington for a look around the V&A museum. The Royal Albert Hall was only around the corner so we took a detour so I could have a look and take some photos.
We eventually made it to Camden around 3 o'clock but it was a Sunday and I was worried that everyone was going to start packing away soon. I'm so naive because IT'S LONDON, obviously it was rammed! I loved Camden even more than I thought I was going to - so many retro/vtg shops and cute little gift stalls. I could have spent SO much money there but as you all probably know it's impossible to shop properly with a boy so I'd love to go back there sometime soon with my best friend. I only ended up buying some sunglasses and some natural lavender and papaya soaps for my mum - I love a good soap!
We were ready to go at 7pm but it was still really bright and sunny so we headed to Leicester Square. We sat on a nearby wall and literally seconds later some street performers broke into dance right in front of us. A big crowd gathered around us and I filmed the whole thing on my camera like a good tourist should! I didn't realise how close we were to China Town so I was so excited when we went and had a look around - another place I'd always wanted to see! We went into a Japanese supermarket type place and my boyfriend bought some sweets he was after that his Japanese friend at school always had and which he used to be obsessed with. I know this sounds absolutely ridiculous but I couldn't believe how many Chinese people were there considering it's literally a 2 minute walk from Leicester Square. I actually felt like I was in China! Absolute cringe moment when I was about to get money out at a cashpoint and I turned to Tom and said 'no because it won't give me English money will it?' I KNOW RIGHT!
I physically screamed when I saw the theatre for Les Miserables in China Town - did not expect to see it there! I've wanted to see Les Mis for sooooo long now, it's probably the only musical I haven't seen (massive musical geek)!!! We were gonna see it when we were in London but I don't think Tom was really feeling it - was definitely just saying it to try and please me! Obviously I made him feel bad about it the entire journey home ;) Ahh well, hopefully me and my mum will go and see it sometime this summer instead!
Sorry for the rather lengthy post, I just thought I'd share my day out with you and all the amazing stuff there is to do in London - although I'm sure most of you live/have been to London a gazillion times before! I only got back yesterday so I've not had a chance to wash/sort my clothes out yet but outfit posts will be back on the agenda very soon I promise!
Have a great week guys :)
